Sleep Easy is a fundraising challenge event asking you to spend one night sleeping rough, all to raise vital funds to help tackle the root causes of youth homelessness. Our next event will be held in the car park of Merry Hill Shopping Centre on Friday 8 March starting at 7pm - 7am the following morning.

Participants receive two boxes to create your shelter and although this isn’t a true reflection of how homeless people live, we hope to give an insight into how it feels to not have a safe place tocall home. There is also an opportunity to hear from some of YMCA’s residents who have experienced homelessness and learn how our vital work has helped them to belong, contribute and thrive in their community.

We raised £20,412 last year and we’re hoping to smash our target of £24,000 for 2024. All funds raised go YMCA Moving Forward Fund, to support young people in their next step to independent living.

Supporting

Sleep Easy - Moving Forward Fund from YMCA Black Country Group

Sleep Easy is an annual fundraising event, where YMCA ask participants to spend one night sleeping in a car park, to raise awareness and funds to help end youth homelessness.

All money raised from our Sleep Easy events, goes towards the Moving Forward Fund, which provides YMCA residents with access to money for essential items to support their move-on journey. This could include white goods or furniture for their new home, a new suit for a job interview or a bicycle in order to get to work. These items, though they may seem small to many, can be the make or break of a successful move-on for our residents.

Your generosity and fundraising is directly contributing to help our young people thrive.
